In 2024, the project “Museum Routes of Russia” will be held in Tatarstan, Dagestan, Buryatia and Chechnya under the curatorship of the leading heads of museums in Russia. This year the project is transforming and reaching a new level: it is becoming republican, and each strategic session has its own curator.
From 24 to 27 April, the capital of Tatarstan hosted guests from all over the country at the first meeting of the project. The opening took place on 25 April at the Kazan Academic Russian Bolshoi Theatre named after V. I. Kachalov.
On 27 April 2024, the Bolgar Museum-Reserve was visited by the heads of federal and regional museums within the framework of the project “Museum Routes of Russia”. The guests were welcomed in national traditions with chak-chak and bread and salt. Within the framework of the excursion program, the participants of the events got acquainted with the exposition of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization. In the museum “Bolgar tea party”, they learned about the history of tea drinking in the Volga region, visited the museum-exhibition complex Memorial Sign in honor of adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgars in 922 where they saw the world’s largest printed Koran. The guests became acquainted with the architectural monuments of XIII-XIV centuries and at the end of the excursion program, they visited the White Mosque.
