In order to involve the older generation in the sphere of creative and social activity, to carry out preventive maintenance of a healthy lifestyle, the Charitable Foundation “Social wellbeing of Spassky district” together with the State Autonomous Institution of Social Services “Rassvet”, the Bolgar Museum-Reserve and the local public organization of veterans, using the grant competition of the Republic of Tatarstan 2023, implemented the project “Creation of a hobby club for veterans (pensioners) of Spassky district – Live, Dream, Create”.
The following areas of work were used in the implementation of the project:
1. “Life in motion” – sports activities, relay races, walks in the fresh air.
2. “Spassky craftsmen” – master classes on making souvenirs with the participants’ own hands.
3. “Amazing world” – classes for joint leisure activities: chess, novus, jaccolo, shuffleboard, kulbutto, kornhole and others.
4. “Travelers club” – organization of excursions, visits to museums, exhibitions, sightseeing of the native land.
5. “Information support” – consultations on consumer rights protection, on the quality of housing and communal services, social support.
6. “Our Soviet past” – creation of an exhibition presenting exhibits of the Soviet period from personal collections of the project participants and all interested citizens.
7. “New Year’s Light” – holding a New Year’s event with creative performances by project participants and awarding diplomas and gifts to active participants.
Implementation of the project made it possible to solve one of the priority and most difficult tasks: to attract more elderly people to an active life position, to maintain normal full-fledged communication and to push back old age.
