On 21 February 2024, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Bitunova Yu. A. for 14 students of Bolgar secondary school № 1 held an event on “The power is strong with the army” dedicated to the upcoming holiday – the Day of Defender of the Fatherland.
The history of the holiday of 23 February is an integral part of the history of the whole country. It is saturated with dozens of state, political and social facts that repeatedly change the fate of many millions of people. The beginning of the wide formation of detachments and units of the Red Army was 23 February 1918. This day was declared a holiday – the Day of the Red Army. Today, as in the old days, our army is famous for its soldiers. It is on the example of these people that it is customary to educate the younger generation.
At the event, the children learnt about the history of the holiday, took an active part in a quiz and received gifts.
