On February 15, 2024, a researcher of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve V. A. Mukhamedov for 8 pupils of Bolgar secondary school № 2 held an event on “Weapons and armor of the Golden Horde” for the purpose of historical enlightenment of the young generation on the history of the native land.
The Golden Horde is one of the most significant and powerful states of Eastern Europe in its history. The Golden Horde reached its peak in the beginning of the 14th century, and its army from the very beginning of the state’s existence brought fear and terror to its enemies and, on the contrary, encouraged its allies. Certainly, the study of military affairs of the Golden Horde will help to understand both the reasons of successes of the state at the initial stage of its existence and the reasons of its fall.
In the course of the event, schoolchildren saw images of samples of armament of the Golden Horde warriors, learned about the types and characteristics of their armor, as well as about the peculiarities of combat.
