On 12 January 2024, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Usmanova D.O. held an event on “Kol Gali: literary life of the region” for a tourist group of 12 people from Moscow.
Kol Gali was an outstanding poet, thinker and a well-educated man. His brilliant poem “Kyissa-i-Yosuf” is one of the great masterpieces of world culture. The whole history of Turkic literature is connected with the name of Kol Gali.
At the event, the guests learnt about the biography of the great medieval poet and his literary work. The listeners became acquainted with the peculiarities of the poem “Kyissa-i-Yosuf” and its importance in the cultural history of the Volga Tatars, and learnt about the historical conditions in which the poem was written.
At the end of the event, a master class was held on making New Year souvenirs, patchwork dolls and ceramic jugs. The guests were delighted with the warm welcome, received positive emotions and were charged with New Year mood.
