On 22 December 2023, a researcher of Bolgar Museum-Reserve V. A. Mukhamedov held a lecture on “The reforms of Alexander II” for 25 pupils of 9th-10th grades of Bolgar secondary school No. 2.
The reforms of Alexander II were one of the defining reforms in the history of Russia. Apart from financial and military reforms, the abolition of serfdom was carried out, which is the most famous part of the emperor’s reforms.
During this lecture, pupils learnt about the background to the reforms, about their course and the effects they had on the history of our country.
