On 9 December 2023, in the village of Nizhnyaya Tatarskaya Maina, took place a republican scientific and practical conference “Problems of studying, preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Tatar people” timed to coincide with the Year of National Cultures and Traditions. The conference was held with the support of the Aksubaevsky district administration. It was attended by teachers from neighbouring districts of the Republic of Tatarstan and archaeologists studying the Western Zakamye. The staff members of Bolgar Museum-Reserve J.G. Mukhametshin and I.D. Mukhametshin made reports at the conference.
J.G. Mukhametshin’s report “The past and present of Arabic Script in the Middle Volga Region” was devoted to the development of the traditions of written culture of the Bulgars and the Tatar people. The report of I.D. Mukhametshin “The role of Bolgar Museum-Reserve in the formation of historical memory of the younger generation” was devoted to the educational work of the staff of the reserve and popularization of history for schoolchildren.
A collection of articles was published as a result of the conference.
