On 6 December 2023, as part of the project “Bolgar for everyone” implemented with funds from the TATNEFT Charitable Foundation, an interactive event was held in the creative studio “Territory of opportunities” and in the craft workshops “Bulgar masters” of Bolgar Museum-Reserve for 8 pupils of the 4th grade of Bolgar sanatorium boarding school.
During the event, schoolchildren visited the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization where they got acquainted with various crafts of the city of Bolgar in a playful way and became “Bolgar craftsmen” themselves. In the museum, kids performed various tasks. After the excursion, they visited the craft workshops “Bulgar masters” and the creative studio “Territory of opportunities” where the staff of the museum-reserve held master-classes and lessons for them. In the pottery workshop, children tried to make a pot from clay on a potter’s wheel with the help of a master. In the woodcarving workshop, boys sawed animal figures with a jigsaw. In the creative studio, children had a master class of glass painting on a winter theme. The little artists also tried to paint their glasses beautifully and neatly. All the little masters were very pleased with their beautiful and finished works. Many children were interested in specialized tables with sand, on which they created their fanciful paintings, emotionally relaxing and resting.
This day children touched not only the history of ancient Bolgar, but also became acquainted with different kinds of folk arts and crafts, as well as got their first experience in decorative and applied art. Every time they come to the museum, children discover it from a new side, learning a lot of new and interesting things.
