On June 9, 2023, for the participants of the school camp at Bolgar secondary school № 1, a researcher of the museum and educational activities department of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Vagapov R. Z. held an interactive lesson “Healers of Volga Bulgaria”.
In the museum “Healer’s House”, children learned the history of Eastern Muslim and Volga-Bulgarian medicine. They saw a reconstruction of a healer’s workshop, authentic and reconstructed medical instruments, and learned how they were used. In the museum “Bolgar tea party”, participants became acquainted with the history of the origin and development of tea drinking traditions, learned about the useful properties of tea. At the interactive master class, children learned the history, recipe and useful properties of one of the oldest dishes of Tatar cuisine – bal-mai.
