On June 1, 2023, on the territory of Bolgar Museum-Reserve for 25 schoolchildren of the 3rd-4th grades from the city of Zelenodolsk, an employee of the museum-reserve Rogachyova M. N. held an educational and game event on “Reveal your secrets to us, Bolgar” dedicated to the International Children’s Day.
Children’s Day has been celebrated around the world since 1950 on the first day of summer – June 1. International Children’s Day is primarily a reminder to adults of the need to respect the rights of children to life, freedom of opinion and religion, education, rest and leisure, protection from physical and mental abuse, protection from exploitation of child labor. The International Children’s Day is always marked with different events aimed at drawing attention to the situation of children all over the world. In our country, Children’s Day is celebrated under the auspices of the Russian Children’s Fund.
During the event, children “uncovered the secrets of ancient Bolgar”. Visiting the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization, they sought answers to questions of the quiz in the museum exhibition, performed various tasks. At the Bolgar settlement, kids saw unique monuments of architecture, heard the folk legends associated with them. In the pottery workshop, they saw how the master-potter worked. After making a fascinating trip to the ancient city, the schoolchildren discovered many new and interesting things and took with them small memorable souvenirs about Bolgar that they painted by themselves during the master class.
