On April 27, 2023, an employee of the excursions department of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Rogachyova M. N. gave a lecture on “We are proud of our countrymen – heroes of the Great Patriotic War” for 11 pupils of the 3rd grade of Bolgar sanatorium-type residential school.
At the lecture, students heard a story about the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, natives of Spassky district, remembered the names of those who was awarded the highest award of the country – Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union. Pupils saw photographs of their compatriots and learned a lot about them who had passed the ways of war: about those who came back alive and those who died in the battles, defending their homeland and remained forever as soldiers of that distant war. Actively participating in the conversation, the students answered questions of the quiz, remembered and spoke about their grandfathers and great grandfathers, about their feats. At the end of the event, children observed a minute of silence in memory of soldiers of the Great Patriotic War. All the participants were given St. George ribbons to wear on Victory Day – May 9 when children will go to the meeting.
