On April 27, 2023, on the exhibition platform of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization the opening of the exhibition “Kazan Quran in the history and culture of Tatar people” took place. The exhibition was devoted to the 220th anniversary of the Kazan Quran publication.
The Quran has played an amazing role in human history and has become a unique phenomenon of world culture. For Muslims, the Quran is the direct word of God, addressed to his Prophet, and through the latter to his followers.
The Quran is a historical source of a special kind. Its interpretation depends on the Muslim historical tradition, which allows us to interpret these or other Quranic fragments as allusions to historical events and persons. The influence of Koran can be seen in literary works where Koranic plots and ideas are presented. Among them, there are literary monuments of pre-Mongol time “Kyssa-i-Yusuf” by Kul Gali, “Badavam”, “Kisekbash” and others.
In Bolgar Museum-Reserve, they pay great attention to the acquisition of Arabic-graphic manuscripts and printed books.
At the exhibition, there are printed editions of the Koran, tafsirs, tajvids – guides to the proper reading of the Koran, books on tawhid – about the unity of God. There is a separate group of books dedicated to the biography of the Prophet, ashabs etc. These books of varying degrees of preservation have become museum exhibits, each with its own history. The event was attended by representatives of the Muslim religious organization of spiritual educational organization of higher education “Bolgar Islamic Academy” and veterans of Bolgar Museum-Reserve.
There were 20 people at the opening of the exhibition.
