On April 26, 2023, on the day of the 137th anniversary of the birth of the great Tatar poet and educator G. Tukay, a researcher of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Musina G. M. held a thematic hour “Ana telem, tugan telem” dedicated to the Day of Native Language for seven pupils of the 2nd grade of Bolgar sanatorium boarding school.
It is symbolic that these two memorable dates are annually celebrated on the same day. It is well known how reverently the poet treated his native language, calling it holy and beautiful.
Language is a reliable tool that unites people of the same nationality, making them one. Representatives of more than a hundred nationalities have found their home on the friendly land of Tatarstan. There are centuries-old traditions of mutual understanding and respect among the peoples living in the region, and an atmosphere of tolerance, brotherhood and mutual assistance has been formed. Mother Language Day is a holiday when everyone has an opportunity to feel a part of his nation.
The children became acquainted with the concept of what a native language is and why it is called a native language, learned about the celebration of Mother Tongue Day in Tatarstan. During the lesson, the pupils solved riddles, listened to proverbs and sayings, played games. In the end, kids had a tour of the Museum of Quran.
