On 24 April 2023, a researcher of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Krivosheyeva S.V. held an event on “Development of writing” for eight pupils of the 3rd grade of Bolgar sanatorium boarding school.
Children became acquainted with the history of the origin of writing, learnt how writing allowed humankind to comprehend the past experience from the height of the present time. Thanks to the monuments of writing, which have reached us from the depths of centuries, children heard about ancient civilizations and got acquainted with the roots of subject writing. Kids learned what pictography, runic writing, tamga, Arabic script, Latin and Cyrillic script are. At the end of the event, the pupils worked as translators from Cyrillic script to modern script and tried to write their names in the Cyrillic alphabet.
