On April 7, 2023, an employee of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Bitunova Y.A. held an event on “By the roads of space orbits” for 15 students of Bolgar secondary school № 1. The event was devoted to the Day of Cosmonautics.
On April 12, 1961, the citizen of the Soviet Union senior lieutenant Yu. A. Gagarin on board of “Vostok” spaceship for the first time in the world made an orbital flyby around the Earth, opening the age of manned spaceflight. In honor of the first human orbital flight around the Earth in April 1962, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR the Day of Cosmonautics was officially established in our country. In 2011, this day became the International Day of Human Space Flight on the initiative of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
The pupils became acquainted with the history of the holiday and learned the names of famous scientists and astronauts who made an invaluable contribution to the development of science about outer space. Children actively participated in a quiz, answering questions and sharing their knowledge of space.
