On March 27, 2023, staff members of Bolgar Museum-Reserve and pensioners of Bolgar made a trip to the village Kuznechiha and visited the museum of the history of the town “Suvar”. The head of the museum N.M. Sadrieva kindly welcomed the guests. She told in detail the history of the town of Suvar, one of the most important cities of Volga Bulgaria. The residents of Suvar loved their city. Enraptured by its beauty, they called it Shamsuar, which means “Beautiful like the sun”. They also called it “Nur-Suvar” (Light-Suvar).
In the course of the conversation, visitors familiarized themselves with the exposition of the museum and the ancient fortifications of the city, remains of which have survived to the present day in the form of a moat and a rampart. At the end of the excursion, a hospitable hostess of the museum offered everybody fragrant tea. Guests were very grateful to Ninel Masgutovna for an interesting conversation and hospitality.
