On March 4, 2023, for the students of Bolgar boarding school for children with disabilities an employee of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Glavnova V.N. held an educational and entertaining event on “Maslenitsa zadorinki” in the framework of the All-Russian action “National culture of schoolchildren”. The purpose of the lesson was to familiarize children with the Russian folk festival “Maslenitsa”, with traditions, customs and original culture of the people.
Maslenitsa is one of the most cheerful holidays of the year, which is widely celebrated across Russia. It reflects the age-old traditions carefully preserved and handed down from generation to generation. It is a weeklong holiday – a ritual with roundelays, songs, dances and games, dedicated to the farewell to winter and meeting of spring.
During the event, children watched a presentation and a video, with interest listened to the history of the holiday, solved riddles, held games and contests. The holiday was fun, and at the end of the event, there was a tea party with pancakes.
