On March 3, 2023, an employee of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sabirzyanova L.I. held a lecture on “Writer for all times” for 16 children attending the Children’s Art House. The lesson was devoted to the World Writer’s Day.
On March 3, World Writer’s Day is celebrated. It was established by members of the International Congress of PEN Club in 1986. The aim of the events dedicated to the holiday is to recall the freedom of speech, as well as to promote new trends in literature. Broadly speaking, this holiday is celebrated by all workers of the pen: writers, journalists, critics, editors and students-philologists.
The full name of the holiday is World Peace Day for the Writer. Today, among the main goals is to draw attention to the violations of freedom of speech, as well as the unacceptability of pressure on writers and journalists. On the occasion of the holiday, presentation of awards and prizes for outstanding writers, presentations of new books and meetings with writers take place.
During the lecture, kids learned the history of the holiday, traditions and interesting facts. Also, a conversation about favorite writers and books was held with children.
