On February 19, 2023, an employee of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Salimova G. I. held for the students of 3rd grades of Bolgar secondary school № 1 an event on “Native language is the soul of the people” dedicated to the International Day of Native Language.
Language is a whole world full of charm, glamour and magic. It is the living memory of the people, its soul, its treasure and the greatest wealth. It is the words in the native language that a child hears right after birth, absorbing with milk of his mother the culture, customs and traditions of his people.
Preserving one’s native language is a very important task for a modern society. The Republic of Tatarstan has two official languages – Tatar and Russian, and they both need to be protected because there are currently many problems connected with the preservation of purity and beauty of the language.
Schoolchildren talked to each other, shared their thoughts and impressions and took an active part in a quiz. The lesson had a great educational and developmental value.
