On February 16, 2023, employees of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Glavnova V. N. and Galimullina N. R. held for 18 students of Bolgar secondary comprehensive school № 1 an informative and educational event on “The roads of Afghanistan” dedicated to the Day of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan.
February 15 – the Day of Soviet troops’ withdrawal from Afghanistan – is a tribute to all who were involved in the heroic and tragic Afghan war. Those nine years of cruel battles in a foreign land brought much grief, trouble and sufferings to our people. Even there, in far Afghanistan, the Soviet soldiers showed the best human qualities: courage, firmness and nobility.
The students learned about the terrible and brutal war in Afghanistan, watched a documentary video, which introduced them to the reasons the Soviet troops were brought into Afghanistan, the course of the war and its historical significance. Children observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of our compatriots who perished in the war.
