On February 14, 2023, employees of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Rogachyova M.N. and Galimullina N.R. held an information and entertainment event on “Tea traditions of Bulgars” for 12 students of Bolgar sanatorium-type residential school.
Tea drinking has always characterized kindness, hospitality, which is peculiar to the culture of the Russian and Tatar people and is a feature of their character. The museum “Bolgar tea party” has a rich exhibition of samovars of XIX – XX centuries and items that accompanied the tradition of tea drinking among the Volga people at that time.
Schoolchildren learned about the Volga tea-drinking traditions, its special features, what accompanied tea drinking, where the word “tea” came from. Children heard the old Russian and Tatar proverbs about drinking tea, became acquainted with the collection of samovars of the museum, in the form of a game learned the structure of samovar, actively guessed riddles, collected jigsaw puzzles. In the end, kids themselves laid the table for tea party and with great pleasure drank delicious fragrant tea with treats.
