On January 25, 2023, an employee of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Musina G. M. held an event on “The student years of A. Alish” for 18 students of Spassky College of industrial technologies within the Day of Russian Studentship.
On January 25, Russia celebrates the Day of Russian Studentship (Tatiana’s Day). The holiday has its history and traditions dating back to the 18th century. On this day in 1755 (the day of the martyr Saint Tatiana), Empress Elizaveta Petrovna signed a decree “On the establishment of Moscow University”, and this date became an official university day. Initially the holiday was celebrated only in Moscow. In the 18th-first half of the 19th century, solemn acts commemorating the end of the academic year became a university holiday, and therefore also a student holiday. At the same time, the official university day celebrated with a prayer service in the university church, was January 25. But it was called “the day of the foundation of Moscow University.” Then followed a decree of Nicholas I, where he ordered to celebrate the act of founding the Moscow University as a student holiday. Thus, by the will of the monarch Student Day appeared.
During the event, students listened to the thematic tour “Alish Universities” dedicated to the writer’s studies in Spassky uyezd. The listeners also learned about the period of the writer’s studies at Kazan Land Management Technical School and Kazan Pedagogical Institute.
