On January 26, 2023, an employee of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Bitunova Y. A. for 15 students of Bolgar secondary school № 1 held an event on “Legends of the ancient city” to form an interest of the younger generation to the study of history, cultural and historical heritage of their native land, to broaden the students’ horizons.
The ancient city is covered with beautiful legends. A legend is a genre of folk art, in which real historical events are presented in the form of a symbolic generalization. Their heroes are ordinary people including historical figures. Of course, legends do not cover the entire history of the world, only some time segments.
At the event, kids became acquainted with the legends of the ancient city of Bolgar, watched a presentation, collected puzzles, actively participated in a fascinating quiz and received sweet prizes.
