On January 13, 2023, employees of the department of excursions of Bolgar Museum-Reserve V. N. Glavnova and D. O. Usmanova held an information and entertainment event on “Old New Year” in Bolgar secondary school № 1.
Two weeks after the celebration of December 31, on the night of January 13 to 14 each year, a small miracle happens – the holiday is knocking at our door again under a different name – Old New Year. It is so nice that the holiday is repeated twice, and we have the opportunity to congratulate all those whom we forgot or did not have time to congratulate and once again light the Christmas tree lights!
During the event, schoolchildren learned the history of the holiday. Kids watched a video, remembered folk omens associated with the holiday, learned about the countries where it is still celebrated, chose dumplings with surprises, participated in a relay race, guessed riddles, played snowballs and had fun.
The event was attended by 15 schoolchildren.
