On 9 December 2022, a staff member of the excursions department of Bolgar Museum-Reserve V. N. Glavnova held a lecture on “Heroes of the Fatherland” for the students of Bolgar boarding school for children with disabilities.
To make sure that the memory of everyone remains in our hearts, and that children remember their heroes by name, in the calendar of Russian holidays there is a special date – December 9 – Day of Heroes of the Fatherland. Deeds are always remembered, not just on special holidays. These people, outwardly not much different from many, performed real acts, which not everyone dares to do. No matter what time it was (peaceful or war), there were always people who could neglect their own interests and lives to save others.
During the lecture, the students learned the history of the holiday, got the knowledge about the heroic pages of history of our Motherland, learned the meaning of the word “winner” and the names of Russian heroes. Children remembered proverbs and sayings about heroes. They paid homage to the memory of those who died.
Six schoolchildren took part in the event.
