On 28 October 2022, as part of the project “Pushkin’s card” staff members of Bolgar Museum-Reserve held an interactive theatrical event on “Golden pages of the history of Spassky uyezd” for the students of Antonovskaya secondary school of Spassky municipal district of RT.
At this event, children became acquainted with the life of the district town of Spassk during the 18th-19th centuries. The characters of the theatrical program – Peter I, Catherine II, the Mayor and the noblewoman in thematic costumes highlighted the most striking historical events in the life of the district and the town. The program included elements of popular ballroom dances of the time and round dances, as well as parlor games – bingo and cards. Children were introduced to various kinds of needlework: spinning wool, embroidery, basket weaving. The participants had master classes on making dolls and charms, and on painting gingerbread with white glaze.
The students with great pleasure joined the performance, danced, played and participated in the master classes. Great interest was aroused by the costumes of the characters. At the end of the program, there was a photo shoot.
Each participant of the program received a gift from the Museum-Reserve – the book by Rudenko K. A. “How people lived in Volga Bulgaria or a journey into XII century”. Forty students attended the event.
