On 26 October 2022, a research associate of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Musina G.M. gave a lecture on “World Heritage of UNESCO” dedicated to the United Nations Day for the students of the 8th grade of Bolgar sanatorium-type residential school.
October 24 marks the anniversary of the entry into force of the UN Charter. The Organization officially came into being with the ratification of this founding document by the majority of the countries that adopted it, including the five permanent members of the Security Council. This was the beginning of a 77-year journey full of significant achievements.
In the 21st century, the United Nations remains active in maintaining international peace and security, providing humanitarian assistance to those in need, protecting human rights and upholding international law in accordance with the Organization’s Charter.
At the same time, the United Nations is pursuing a number of wide-ranging objectives not reflected in its Charter. The most important of these are the sustainable development goals, a universal call to action to eradicate poverty, protect our planet, improve quality of life, and improve prospects for all people around the world.
During the lecture, students actively responded to questions and shared their knowledge and experiences. Schoolchildren learned about the Organization and its activities and listened to the UN anthem. At the end of the lecture, the participants received souvenirs and sweet treats.
