On 21 October 2022, employees of the museum-educational department of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Bitunova Yu. A. and Sabirzyanova L.I. held a lecture “On the streets of our town history lives” for the students of Bolgar secondary school № 1.
Each city has its own historical fate, its own biography defining its character and appearance. Streets are silent witnesses and keepers of our history, they can tell a lot to a person interested. Many streets are named after writers and poets, communist figures, important dates and holidays, heroes of the Civil and Great Patriotic Wars. A street name is not only a tribute to a person, it is evidence of the values that characterize our way of life. To know about the people whose names are given to city streets means to know the history and culture of the country where you live, to know its people.
At the lecture, children actively participated in the conversation about their native city, learned a lot about those whose names and surnames there are on the streets of our town.
