On 21 October 2022, a staff member of the excursions department of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Rogachyova M. N. held an interactive informative and educational event on “Goldsmiths” for the 9th grade students of Bolgar boarding school for children with disabilities.
Children had a tour of the museum exhibition where they were introduced to the finds from the Bolgar settlement connected with the jewelry craft. During the event, students saw a lot of unique jewelry and learned that in ancient times, Bolgar jewelers were great masters of their craft. Creating unique jewelry and household items, they have reached a high perfection in their work. Children also listened to the ancient legends associated with Bolgar jewelry.
Kids actively participated in the contests: they collected jigsaw puzzles with the images of products of Bolgar jewelers, searched for their originals in the museum exhibition, with great interest they studied the ancient objects represented by copies of archaeological finds and tried to find among them those connected to the work of old Bolgar jewelers.
