On 7 October 2022, employees of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization Zarifullina T.G., Kamayeva T.P. and Salnikova V.A. held an information and entertainment event on “Light of wisdom” for pensioners of the veteran organization of the administration of Spassky municipal district of RT.
October 1 is the International Day of the Elderly. The decision about it was made by the UN General Assembly in 1990. Every year in the golden autumn, we honor those who have devoted all their strength and knowledge to their people, who gave their health and youth to the younger generation.
Veterans visited the exhibition “We come from the USSR” where they plunged into the atmosphere of 60-70-80s of the last century. They sat at their childhood school desks. They actively participated in a trip to the country of developed socialism, which was held in the format of the lesson of nostalgia and history. The guests remembered the Soviet prices, the old and noble movies, Soviet songs, their performers, as well as favorite TV shows that the whole family watched after a day of work.
Veterans enthusiastically took part in making a horseshoe amulet, learned about the legend preceding the appearance of the tradition to protect the house with horseshoes, about the observance of certain rules in making them, about the meaning of each material used for the decoration of a horseshoe-amulet.
The guests also became acquainted with the exhibitions “The Queen of Autumn”, “Story of one exhibit. Hot iron”, as well as with the art works of Firinat Khalikov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, and Polina Ilyushkina, an artist-trainee.
The event ended with a friendly tea party in a festive atmosphere.
