The international forum and exhibition “LEISURE 2022” took place in Moscow from 13 to 15 September 2022. More than 300 travel companies, hotels, tourism offices from 40 regions of Russia and 14 countries took part in it. Staff members of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Musina G. M. and Usmanova D. O. visited the event in order to gain experience in the autumn and winter period in the current conditions and to promote new products and routes of our tourist-information center.
LEISURE 2022 has ambitious goals – to increase the tourist attractiveness of Russia in the off-season and winter, to demonstrate the diversity of tourist destinations, products and services for year-round travel in our country.
With this focus, more than 40 regions, including Novosibirsk, the New Year capital of Russia 2022/2023, presented their unique autumn and winter offerings at LEISURE. Chukotka, Chuvashia, Bryansk and Belgorod regions participated for the first time. Also for the first time in Moscow, a new interregional route “Big Ural” was presented.
Zarina Doguzova, the head of Rostourism, attended the opening ceremony. According to her, thanks to the joint efforts, the industry is actively recovering: the tourist flow this year has almost returned to pre-pandemic indicators, the number of holidaymakers has doubled in two years, and jobs have been restored.
The main business event of the first working day of LEISURE was the strategic session “How to maintain the balance and sustainability of the industry?” attended by Elena Lysenkova, Deputy Head of Rostourism. She noted that the main task that Rostourizm solves is to create comfortable conditions for affordable travel around the country. Lysenkova told about the implementation of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality” and summarized that all conditions have been created to ensure that the upcoming autumn and winter season will be interesting and bright.
