In this year, we mark the 100th anniversary of formation of the USSR. On that occasion, an exhibition “We are from the USSR” opened on 7 July 2022 in the museum of Abdulla Alish.
The exposition shows the items, which were located in the yard and in storerooms of a rural worker. The home environment of an average citizen of the USSR of 1960-1970s with all household items is presented. In the Soviet country, appeals and slogans were in high esteem. The slogan “Decisions of the XXII Congress to be implemented” above the original map of the USSR reminds of that.
The map on a thick fabric occupies a large area. The territory of the USSR is completely filled with text and numbers expressing the most significant dates in the history of the USSR. On the map, there are the names of people who glorified the Soviet Union, words, expressions and poems that were recognizable in the 70-year history of the USSR.
Opening the exhibition, the presenters – staff members of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sagirova L. Sh. and Muhametshin J. G. noted a great role of youth organizations of the USSR in the preservation of traditional values and in continuity of generations. Famous songs of the Soviet Union sounded, which were actively supported by the participants of the event – members of the club “University of the third age” and labor veterans. At the end, there was a tea party in the tradition of 1960s – with bread, salt and mustard that were provided free by the community kitchens of those years. And, of course, there was cheese “Druzhba” and canned food “Sprat in tomato souse”. Pancakes prepared with old technology were the table decoration.
