On 7 July 2022, an exhibition “Warmth of home” opened in the exhibition area of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization. The exhibition devoted to Family Day presented items passed from generation to generation. A family heirloom is an inherited thing or a document, which is of great value for a certain family. In the old days, any wealthy family had some special things passed from generation to generation. Family heirlooms of noble families are jewels, portraits of famous ancestors in massive frames, unique furnishings often made for individual orders. In farming families, descendants often received wedding rings, items made of precious metals and something beautiful, rare or valuable for a certain family. Frequently, personal letters, scientific and literary works are kept for years and even passed to descendants. Many Russian families have some photos of ancestors, certificates and diplomas, even awards of grandparents who participated in the Great Patriotic War.
The exhibition will last until July 28, 2022.
