On 10 June 2022, foreign students of the preparatory department of Ulyanovsk State University visited Bolgar Museum-Reserve with excursion program.
Within the excursion program, the guests went to the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization where they became familiar with a rich history and culture of Volga Bulgaria, with life of ancient Bolgar. The students were really impressed by the Memorial Sign in honor of adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgars in 922 where there is the world’s biggest printed Koran, books and shamails. In the territory of hillfort, the guests saw the preserved constructions of Muslim medieval architecture of XIII-XIV centuries – the Cathedral mosque, the Northern mausoleum, the Eastern mausoleum, the Khan’s palace, the Eastern chamber, the Small minaret and Khan’s shrine, the White and Black chambers.
The students asked many questions, communicated and took photos. Everybody received new knowledge, a lot of impressions and positive emotions.
