On 1 June 2022, a staff member of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Rogachyova M. N. held an interactive-knowledge event on “Show us your secrets, Bolgar” for the students of the 5th grade from Ulyanovsk. The event was devoted to International Children’s Day.
International Children’s Day is one of the oldest international holidays. The world celebrates it since 1950 on the first summer day. The decision to mark the holiday was adopted at the special session of the Women’s International Democratic Federation in November 1949. The United Nations supported this initiative and announced protection of children’s rights, life and health as one of its priority activities.
International Children’s Day is, above all, a reminder for adults about the need to respect children’s rights to life, to freedom of expression and religion, to education, rest and leisure, to protection from physical and psychological violence.
On this festive day, schoolchildren revealed for themselves the secrets of ancient Bolgar. They visited the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization and saw many archaeological finds, walked around the Bolgar hillfort, became acquainted with the history of the town, saw unique architectural monuments and heard the legends connected with them. During the excursion, kids visited the pottery studio. Children made a fascinating travel to the ancient town, learned many new things, carried little commemorative gifts with them and got a lot of bright impressions.
