On 18 May 2022, a staff member of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Rogachyova M. N. held an interactive excursion program “Keeper of Great Bolgar” for the students of the 2nd and 4th grades of Bolgar sanatorium-type residential school. The activity was held within the all-Russian action “Night of Museums”.
On this festive day, schoolchildren made “travel into the past” having an excursion in the form of a game. A “treasure” hunt started with visiting the Gabdrakhman’s well and continued on the Historical waterfront. Kids gathered letters on the fragments of ceramic to learn the key word that indicated the place of treasure, learned many interesting things about the ancient Bolgar town and heard folk stories and legends. During the event, schoolchildren knew how archaeologists work, visited the “Labyrinth of finds”, played an ancient game “Mill”, with great interest fulfilled the tasks trying themselves as scientists-archaeologists and trackers. Walking around the Historical waterfront children found the “treasure” and revealed many new and unknown things for themselves. That evening, kids received commemorative gifts and books about Volga Bulgaria for active participation in the event.
