On 18 May 2022, staff members of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Galimullina N. R., Gaifutdinova O. A., Ahundov N. O. and Mukhamedov V. A. held for the guests of the museum-reserve a theatrical excursion with elements of interactive “Time travel”. The event was devoted to the International museum day.
People began to mark this day since 1977 when at the next meeting of International Council of Museums, the Russian organization offered to establish this cultural holiday. Since 1978, more than 150 countries started to celebrate the International museum day. As is known, museums are the custodians of human history, its values and cultural heritage. Bolgar Museum-Reserve also keeps these values and celebrates the International museum day every year.
On that day, famous historical characters – khan Almush, Peter I, Katherine II revealed many interesting historical facts for visitors: adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgars in 922, Decree of Peter I on the protection of Bolgar monuments and the letter of Katherine II to graph Panin about Bolgar ruins. The heroes “came alive” in the museum exposition creating the atmosphere of mystery and magic. The participants of the event listened to their stories, talked, asked questions and, of course, took a souvenir photo.
