On May 16, 2022, a methodologist of the department of museum-educational activities of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sagirova L. S. in Trekhozersky village library of Spassky municipal district of RT held an event on “Lessons of wisdom of Kayum Nasyri” for the students of Trekhozerskaya secondary school. Children learned about the outstanding scientist, writer and educator of the Tatar people.
During his more than half a century of scientific, literary and pedagogical activity, Kayum Nasyri published about forty works on fiction, folklore, philology, pedagogy, history, astronomy and other branches of science.
The students at the event learned that Kayum Nasyri was also the compiler and publisher of the first periodicals in the Tatar language – calendars. The great Tatar scholar published the first issue of the annual Tatar language calendar in Kazan on January 6, 1871. Kayum Nasyri introduced the term “calendar” into the Tatar language. His calendars were published annually until 1898. Kayum Nasyri’s works in the field of science and spiritual culture of the Tatar people are still relevant today.
