On 15 May 2022, an exhibition of art works of the participants of Raifsky art-festival “Contact of cultures” opened in the exhibition area of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization. The exhibition includes more than 40 artworks created by the participants of the festival and united by humanistic ideas – love, compassion and mercy. These are the main values of major spiritual cultures of Tatarstan – Orthodox and Muslim.
In 2021, artists from Udmurtia, Mari El, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Naberezhnye Chelny and creative individuals with disabilities from Tatarstan were the participants of the festival. Artists studied the monuments of cultural and spiritual heritage of our republic, visited the places of contact and development of Orthodox and Muslim religions – the Kazan Kremlin and Bolgar where the celebrations in honor of the 1100th anniversary of adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria will take place soon. Each master reflected the results of his artistic explorations on two canvases, which symbolically indicate two worlds – Christian and Muslim. Paintings of each artist are combined into diptych that symbolizes the inextricable link between cultures. Exhibitions of works created within the Raifsky festival “Contact of cultures” take place on significant museum and exhibition platforms of the Volga Region.
The manager of the project of Raifsky art-festival “Contact of cultures” Ilyasova A. R., Deputy Director for science Faskhutdinov A. N., Honored Artist of RT Sharipov H. M. and staff members of Bolgar Museum-Reserve took part in ceremonial opening of the exhibition.
“Dear friends!
In these days, Tatarstan and Russia celebrate a significant historical date – the 1100th anniversary of adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria. And, of course, it is symbolic that the exhibition with such a polysemous name – “Contact of cultures” opens today on this land.
Let the paintings of artists of this project carry a high unification mission encouraging nations of different cultures and civilizations to respect each other.
I congratulate all participants of the project on opening of the exhibition on sacred land of ancient Bolgar on the day of the 1100th anniversary of adoption of Islam.
I wish you to have new meetings with empathetic and grateful viewers!
With sincere love and best wishes,
R. G. Safiullina – Advisor to the Minister of Culture of RT, Member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Culture of RT”.
The exhibition will last until June 15, 2022.
