On 3 May 2022, in Bolgar Museum-Reserve a new interactive excursion program “Gastronomic Bolgar” was held for tourists from the ship “Aleksey Tolstoy”. The route passed through Museum Street and the territory of the hillfort. “Gastronomic Bolgar” is an interactive excursion with a visit to the museum “Nobility of Spassky uyezd” where the guests learned about famous noble families – nationals of our region, saw household items of nobles, looked at the arrangement of noblemen’s estates and outbuildings. There, the guests tasted their favorite drink – kvass. In the museum “The town on the river”, tourists learned the history of the town Spassk-Kuibyshev-Bolgar, which is inseparably associated with the Volga River. Local “fisherman” told the guests about the history of fishing, treated them to “Bolgar fish soup”, introduced to the recipe for tasty fish soup and told fish stories. In the museum “Bolgar tea party”, tourists learned about the traditions of tea culture and its links with the history of the region, became acquainted with a big collection of samovars, tasted Bolgar tea with herbs prepared on a fire and participated in a master class in preparing a national treat “bal-mai”.
