On 1 May 2022, a theatrical opening of the tourist season 2022 “Great Bolgar invites” traditionally took place in Bolgar Museum-Reserve.
At the west gate of the hillfort, historical personages “Great Khan of Bolgar” and “Khanbike” welcomed visitors with a national treat “chak-chak”. Honored right of cutting ribbon and opening of the tourist season was given to the youngest tourist.
At the central complex of the hillfort, interactive platforms worked: “Bolgar is the town of masters”, “Bolgar is the kingdom of intelligence” and “Bolgar shooting gallery”. Masters-artisans demonstrated master classes in different kinds of crafts. On the platform “Bolgar is the kingdom of intelligence”, guests became acquainted with medieval games. Visitors showed their agility and accuracy on the platform “Bolgar shooting gallery”.
On that day, large numbers of tourists from Tatarstan and many other regions of Russia visited the museum-reserve.
