On 26 April 2022, a staff member of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Salimova G. I. held an event on “I speak Tatar” for the students from Moscow. The event was devoted to Mother Language Day.
Tatarstan as sovereign Republic lives according to its own laws and traditions where there are two official languages – Tatar and Russian, and the residents of Tatarstan can get information in two languages.
On that day during the event, children with interest tried to read poems by a famous writer Gabdulla Tukay in the Tatar language. Then kids walked around the ancient town of Bolgar, visited the Memorial Sign, became acquainted with the history of the town and saw architectural monuments and the world’s biggest printed Koran.
