On April 23, 2022, as part of the cultural and educational campaign, the staff of Bolgar Museum-Reserve conducted a quest-excursion “Mysteries of Bulgar heritage” for the students of Bolgar secondary school № 1, school № 2 and students of Spassky College of sectoral technologies.
At the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization, program participants learned about the history and culture of Volga Bulgars. Children performed quest tasks under the guidance of the “Khan” of the ancient city and received for correct answers a map to find the treasure. Then the participants went to the territory of Bolgar ancient settlement where, answering the questions from the map, they found hints for further movement along the route. Ceramic fragments depicting the letters of the Arabic alphabet and architectural monuments led the kids to the Black Chamber, where the “Guardian of Knowledge” met them. The “Guardian of Knowledge” explained the peculiarities of Arabic script to the students and helped them read the resulting word – the key for finding the treasure.
The participants of the quest-tour touched the secrets of Great Bolgar, gained new knowledge and useful skills, received a lot of bright impressions and souvenirs from the museum-reserve.
