On 9 April 2022, an exhibition “History of one exhibit. A magic kochedyk” opened in the exhibition area of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization. Visitors could see there a kochedyk – an old instrument of different epochs – of XIV and XIX centuries intended for weaving things from birch bark. Historically kochedyk was one of the most widely used tools. At the exhibition, visitors learned the history of this instrument, its types, what materials people used for making it, and that kochedyk was also used for producing other items of bast and for peeling bark from trees. The audience could see photo material – photos of manufactured products made with this tool.
The exhibition will last until April 18, 2022.
