On 8 April 2022, a research associate of the museum-educational department of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Vagapov R. Z. held an information-knowledge event on “Everyday life of Volga Bulgaria” for the students of Bolgar comprehensive school №1.
During the middle ages, household played a huge role in the life of society. First, it provides people with the material conditions of existence: food, clothes, accommodation and other commodities. Second, economic sphere of society is a system-forming component, the decisive sphere of its life that determines all processes in society. The types of economic activities defined the life of a person, the kinds of rituals and traditions, formed national mentality and culture.
At the event, schoolchildren learned about the main kinds and types of household of the early medieval state of Volga Bulgaria. The participants knew how the ways and kinds of economic activity reflected on people’s life of that time. Children learned how the economic life of Volga Bulgars reflected on culture and traditions of Tatar people.
