On 7 December 2021, in the exhibition area of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization opened an exhibition “Freeze-frame” including cameras and photos of XX century. There were legendary Soviet cameras of which many people have the fondest memories: “Moscow”, “Zenit”, “Smena” and “FED” from the funds of Bolgar Museum-Reserve. The exhibition also included old photos in picture frames. Soviet camera making began to develop actively in 1930s. “Photocor” and “FED” were the most widespread among the first domestically produced models of camera.
At the opening of the exhibition, visitors did not just see the collection of cameras of our museum but also learned how cameras and photo appeared, when there was the first picture in Russia, where and when a color photograph appeared.
The exhibition will last until January 4, 2022.
