During the gastronomic excursion in the museum “Bolgar tea party”, visitors will become familiar with the history of penetration of tea into the culture of Volga Bulgars – ancestors of modern Tatars. The guests will learn about the drinks used by peoples of the Middle Volga region in IX-XVI centuries. In an interactive master class “Bolgar tea”, the participants will know the history and recipe of this useful nutritious drink. They will learn how to prepare this tea and, of course, will taste it.
In the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization, the guests will acquaint themselves with the historical stages of emergence and development of the national cuisine of Volga Tatars.
At the end of the excursion, over a cup of tea, visitors will learn about one of the oldest dishes of Tatar cuisine – baursak prepared according to the ancient recipe of XVII century. They will know the history of emergence of this dish and see how historical and business processes had an impact on its evolution.
