The Cabinet of the Republic of Tatarstan summed up the results of republican competition for grants for non-profit organizations participating in the implementation of social projects in 2021. Among the winners, there is a project “Theatrical reconstruction “Light of Islam in Bolgar” about the arrival of the Baghdad Embassy in May 922 on the banks of the Volga” prepared by the charitable foundation “Social welfare of Spassky district” together with Bolgar Museum-Reserve.
The charitable foundation “Social welfare of Spassky district” together with Bolgar Museum-Reserve plan to celebrate the 1100th anniversary of adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria conducting a theatrical reconstruction “Light of Islam in Bolgar” about the arrival of the Baghdad Embassy in May 922 on the banks of the Volga. The project will be implemented in 2022 in the framework of the annual commemorative events devoted to the anniversary of adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgars in 922, in Bolgar Museum-Reserve located on the territory of medieval town of Bolgar.
