On 23 October 2021, a staff member of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Rogachyova M. N. within the project “Pushkin’s card” held an information-knowledge event on “Jewelry making in Volga Bulgaria” for the high school students of Burakovskaya comprehensive school.
Children had an interactive tour of the museum exposition and became acquainted with a rich archaeological collection from ancient Bolgar town demonstrating the theme of jewelry making. Archaeological finds presented in the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization give much information about Bolgar jewelers – great masters in their field who achieved a high peak of perfection and artistic skill in their work.
During the event, kids saw a wide variety of unique jewelry, heard ancient legends related to Bolgar jewels and from the mouth of a master-jeweler learned about working tools, their use and different methods and forms of work in making jewelry. Schoolchildren with great interest observed the work of the master, asked questions and tried to learn separate work practices themselves.
At the end, kids participated in contests and did puzzles connected with the subject of jewelry art.
