On 16 September 2021, staff members of Bolgar State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve joined All-Russian project “All-Russia oak grove of Emperor Peter the Great” devoted to the 350th anniversary of Peter I birthday, which will be celebrated in 2022.
In the garden on a smallholding of the museum “Nobility of Spassky uyezd”, there was an action of planting two oaks, the kind of which aged 363 was recognized as a monument of living nature within the All-Russian Program.
They are seedlings from the acorn of the oak of Peter I – the tree-monument of living nature registered in the National Register of old-age trees of Russia.
This has created in the territory of Bolgar Museum-Reserve an additional historical-environmental gravitational pull that contributes to a wider and more productive cultural entertainment, to education of environmental culture of the local community and tourists.
